Last week’s blog post dove into why gratitude is critical to our well-being and to the well-being of everyone.
After I shared it with you, I realized there was something I wished I’d included: gratitude affirmations for your morning and to continue throughout your day.
I’ve discussed affirmations previously, so if you need a refresher you can visit this post here. But let me briefly hit the highlights. Affirmations are statements repeated (with emotion) throughout your day. One benefit is that repetition helps your conscious and subconscious feel the truth of what you’re saying and truly believe it. There comes a point in time after many days, weeks, months, even years when after saying your familiar affirmations aloud, it actually improves your mood. Affirmations are pretty darn cool and I hope I’ve convinced you to give them a try.
Let’s get back to what I missed in last week’s gratitude discussion.
I discussed at length how important it is to really feel gratitude. So why not build feeling gratitude into your morning and daily affirmation practice? Here are several morning gratitude affirmations to get you thinking:
- I have so much for which to be grateful.
- My life is filled with blessings.
- With every breath, I feel more thankful.
- I am thankful for ___________.
- Having gratitude blesses my life and the lives of everyone around me.
- I am so grateful to be a unique being in this beautiful world.
- I choose to believe I am special and I am grateful to be so.

You certainly don’t need to attempt to tackle all of these gratitude affirmations. In fact, I recommend not trying all of them at once.
Choose 2-3 that grab you and say them out loud. How do they feel to you? If they don’t help generate feelings of gratitude immediately, it might mean you should try a different one. Or, it might mean you need to spend a few days saying it to acclimate your mind. Sometimes I know right away if an affirmation is totally wrong for me (at least at that time), but sometimes it doesn’t feel quite right but then once I’ve spent a few days with it, it begins feeling like exactly what I need. So don’t give up, but listen to your intuition.
I created a pretty printable sign to make it easy for you to get started and to remember to repeat your gratitude affirmations throughout your day. Actually, I created two printables for you because while some people enjoy a full-page printout, I realize others prefer something a bit smaller to place throughout their home/car/cubicle/etc. The smaller version makes it simple to print out several copies and stick to your bathroom mirror, in your closet, on a kitchen cabinet, in your car, next to your computer screen, in your knitting bag…you get the idea. You can get creative!
I’m keeping this short today as I’m really hoping you’ll download and start your morning with gratitude affirmations. And then don’t forget to continue repeating them throughout your day to help keep you in a state of gratitude. I’m very excited to be able to share with you some of what I’ve been learning. These past few years, especially since opening Henlia Handmade in 2019, have been years of such incredible growth for me. I am so very grateful you’ve joined me on this journey!
